Lecrae Gravity - An Album that doesn't limit Gravity

LeCrae Gravity
The album Gravity has been released on Sept. 4th 2012

Congratulation's to all who went out to stores and bought the new album of Lecrae, called "Gravity."

Many have posted good comments and review about the new album. I myself have heard the songs that Lecrae published and he hasn't yet failed in his work. The song beats and lyrics are as good as the previous albums.

Lecrae Moore has successfully dropped his sixth album, Gravity at No.3 on the Billboards 200 album chart with sales of 72,000 units. If it was dropped one week earlier it would have been No.1.

Personally, I love all the old and new albums because Lecrae was not one of the first to bring in christian rap, but also his he sings and raps with what he went through in life and big obstacles that he overcame during his life.

Lecrae inspired me to make my own rap songs, I have an album as well, but I don't sell it, but I put it up on youtube for others to see because I didn't make the music, I only made my own lyrics and sang to the music. I plan to make my own music so that I could make raps and sell it.

One problem I find in many raps, are the swearing and the cussing. I see many raps are violating women and about money and getting drunk. But christian rap has none of that, it is about how hard life is, the gospel, and what we believe as being Christians.

I love that Christian rap doesn't have any swear words and show no dis-respect to others in the lyrics.

A Christian rapper has reached no.1 on the Itunes chart by on Tuesday, October 4th 2012

Many who haven't been following christian rap from time should know that christian rap was initially people who sang christian worship song and followed through with more ryhmes and with a hip hop beat. Michael Peace is an American rapper and one of Christian rap's first solo artists.

What I find interesting about Lecrae is that his songs come in a different tune in rap than how I would rap. There is a song called Gravity in the Album of Lecrae which is also called "Gravity."

I was surprised to hear that Lecrae had chosen Gravity as his album name. I thought he was choose a name along the title, "Music Mind," "Speech to the Gospel," or something about his gospel raps.

Lecrae - Gravity Lyrics

Artist: Lecrae

Album: Gravity

Intro (Lecrae):
It’s Gravity
Keeps pullin’ me down

Verse 1 (Lecrae):
I pen songs for the perishin’ and parishioners
Them hearers and them listeners, the home and the visitors
This is not a game, you can't tame or make it purty
They say the earth cursed, so our mouths stay dirty
There’s mud on the track, a slug in ya’ back
Police done pulled you over wit’ a gun in ya’ lap
And you ain't the power to make it through this parade
The workers can't keep the profit - everything here is vain
My job oppressive, I strive for my blessin’s
The pastor so corrupt it's hard to ride with his message
Riches destroy the owners, the government think they own us
My onus is to keep the police from ridin’ all up on us
Leavin’ money to kids who spend it on getting’ blitz
Say, what's the point of livin’ to give it up in the end
Then again, all my sin has been pinned to the cross
I know I'm free forever from this land of the lost

Hook (J.R.):
Yeah, every time I think I’m flying
I’m just falling
So close to touching the sky
But gravity keeps pulling me back down
But I can’t stay here forever
I want to go, ooh one day!
I want to go
Somewhere where there’s no gravity

Verse 2 (Lecrae):
Somebody told me there was no such thing as truth
I said, “If that's the case then why should I believe you?”
Murder, money, and mayhem, every place that I lay in
My problems follow suit, I'm tailor-made for this, ain't I?
It’s deep. You wanna go deep? I’ll take you deep
Reality is really just cheap
Yo’ eyes wide open apparently, but you sleep
And everything you have in your hands you’ll never keep
So why hold on, I flow on to go on, before long I float on
Eternal life is what I'm thinkin’ I'mma bank my hope on
Believe me, easy is irrelevant
The devil want us burning for the hell of it
Elephants in the room say we can't talk about impending doom
Or we gospel rappin’ or preaching people out of they shoes
It’s cool, I'll be that dude. We glued to our depravity,
Until somebody free us from this gravity. Fly!

[Hook]

I really love the special effects of the video above, I can't wait to see the official rap videos. Those of you who got all the tracks when released and the video  - lucky you.

"Today, we have a verdict on that last question. Gospel hip-hop is here. It has broken through. It's edifying the church, it's influencing the culture, and, wow, it's moving units."
 Quote, Owen Strachan

One of Lecrae's famous song is "Don't Wanna Waste My Life."It is very inspiring to hear Lecrae's life story exspecially the story of how he got saved.
